Apple TV’s Best Sci-Fi Show Begins Filming for Season 2, but the Wait Will Be Long

Apple TV’s hit 2025 sci-fi show, Pluribus, has reportedly started filming for its season 2. On Oct. 1, Production List reported that Pluribus season 2 was in pre-production, with filming scheduled to begin on Oct. 31. While Apple has not released any official statements, Forbes reported on Nov. 2 that shooting for season 2 of Pluribus has begun in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Pluribus was created by Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul), and it stars Rhea Seehorn, who played Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul. In this post-apocalyptic sci-fi series, Seehorn plays Carol Sturka, an author of romantasy novels residing in Albuquerque, who is one of the only 13 people in the world immune to the effects of an extraterrestrial virus that transformed the rest of humanity into a creepy hive-mind collective known as Others. Pluribus won many awards, including Seehorn snagging the Best Actress in a Drama Series award at the Golden Globes, the Critics’ Choice Awards, and the Primetime Emmys.

After her victory at the Golden Globes in January 2026, Seehorn confirmed that the team was already “back in the writers’ room” and Gilligan was keen to get started on season 2 as soon as possible. Speaking to Polygon in March, Gilligan confirmed that he was “plugging away on it.” While work wasn’t going as fast as fans hoped, Gilligan reassured everyone that Pluribus season 2 would feature “lots more excitement and twists and turns.”
