• Dems hit 250 in House: Democrats will win at least 250 seats in the House of Representatives, CNN has projected, the party’s largest majority in nearly two decades. In the Senate, two contests have yet to be called: Mississippi and Alaska.
• Blaming the war: Many Republicans are moving swiftly to pin blame on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for the war with Iran, which both President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance said contributed to the GOP shellacking in the midterms. Trump said he fields calls from people unhappy with Hegseth but still intends to keep him.
