Mason Greenwood has recovered from his illness and scored against Liverpool

Fenerbahçe hosted Liverpool in Matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League. The Yellow-and-Blues, who had officially announced head coach Emre Belözoğlu the night before the match, took the field for this big game under Dirk Kuyt’s leadership for the last time. Mason Greenwood, who missed the Super League Week 10 match against Göztepe in Kadıköy (1-2) due to illness, returned to the Champions League stage with a goal.

The Premier League side took a 0-1 lead in the 25th minute with a goal by Trey Nyoni. Following that goal, Fenerbahçe hit the post with a shot by İrfan Can. Then, in the 29th minute, Greenwood stepped up. The 25-year-old star stepped up to take a free kick from just outside the box; his shot hit the wall, but Brazilian goalkeeper Alison Becker, caught off balance as the ball headed toward the corner, could not prevent it from finding the back of the net: 1-1.

The English soccer player, whom the Yellow-and-Blues signed for 39 million euros at the start of the season, scored his second consecutive goal in the UEFA Champions League.
